Nice work from the boys&girls at Gonzales & Germaine. #wwf #earthhour
wwf - WWF Earth Hour 2008 - Switch off the lights, turn on the planet.
Earth Hour is an international event, in which WWF asks people to switch off the lights for one hour. To communicate this message to the young crowd, we asked some celebrities to function as our spokesperson. As Piet Huysentruyt wasn't available, we had to turn to Darth Vader's infamous brother Darth Fladder. The Prince of Darkness turned out to be a nice chap and agreed immediately. He began spreading his message of darkness on print, boomerang and Facebook, getting people to realize that the dark side can save the world after all.

WWF - GERMAINE ontwikkelt levensgroot Jenga! spel
Due to man’s limitless consumption of organic resources, overpopulation and global warming biodiversity is under siege and our fragile ecosystem is getting out of balance rapidly. How could we clarify this complex message to a young, drunk and not so interested festival crowd? Simple. We made a customized Jenga game for WWF. Each piece represents a species.
The message is clear: If you take one away, the whole tower looses its balance. Unlike in the game you don’t have a second chance in real life though.
Besides a couple of injured toes, the game was a huge succes.

WWF - WWF wanted to be part of the discussions around climate change, but came late to the table (at least in communication).
So a powerful image was needed for them to be heard and be able to make their point: it's not too late, we can all in our daily lives do things that have an impact on climate change. In one sentence: getting people to make small positive steps. GERMAINE created the image of the fishmen: the future of men if we don't stop climate change. The campaign ran in some above media, but had an important guerilla part as well: fishmen showing up in public places or in the audience of tv shows.
